GCL export to the United Kingdom
GCL shipped to the UK
We exported a PE-laminated geosynthetic clay liner to a customer in the United Kingdom. The order is one of several recent containment-lining projects served from our own production lines.
A high-mass, film-coated GCL
The supplied liner was a 4500 g/m2 GCL coated with a 0.2 mm HDPE geomembrane film. Bonding a thin HDPE layer to the clay liner adds an extra low-permeability barrier on top of the bentonite core, which suits projects that need a robust composite seal.
How a GCL works
A geosynthetic clay liner sandwiches a layer of sodium bentonite between geotextiles. On hydration the bentonite swells to form a self-sealing, very low-permeability barrier — a practical alternative or complement to a conventional geosynthetic clay liner in landfill, pond and secondary-containment lining.
Production and shipment
Production and shipment images were shared with the customer for their records. We supply GCL at container scale with the documentation overseas buyers need for delivery and acceptance.
